MyKnowledgeHub

MyKnowledgeHub is a collection of online clinical information resources available to the entire Vanderbilt Health community. The portal offers access to critical evidence-based, licensed information resources for consultations at the point of care. In addition to subscription-based resources such as UpToDate, Lexidrug, ClinicalKey, and ClinicalKey for Nursing, the portal also offers a carefully curated selection of open access resources including thousands of scholarly journals, books, and authoritative websites in the biosciences.

Center for Knowledge Management (CKM) information scientists provide user support through instructional videos for each of the clinical licensed resources and online forms to submit questions or request synchronous training. 

CKM has long held the responsibility of managing Vanderbilt Health's portfolio of licensed, evidence-based information resources. In 2023, in anticipation of new access protocols put in place by Vanderbilt University Libraries to ensure compliance with publisher agreements, CKM developed MyKnowledgeHub to facilitate ongoing, centralized access to these key resources for the medical center community.   • Reputable, synthesized, evidence-based deciusion support resources (e.g., UpToDate/Expert AI, BMJ Best Practice) 
  • In-depth drug information via Lexidrug and Micromedex
  • Patient education databases (e.g., Krames On-Demand)
  • Curated collection of ejournals and ebooks, including resources from ClinicalKey and vetted open access content

Accessing the portal

  • Accessible via Vanderbilt Health connection/VPN or login with medical center credentials at: https://myknowledgehub.vumc.org/
  • Launch MyKnowledgeHub via the icon on the eStar Virtual Desktop
  • Search for MyKnowledgeHub in the Vanderbilt Health Hub Resources Finder and filter to "Clinical Resources"

Getting started with MyKnowledgeHub

  • Consult the MyKnowledgeHub overview video for a quick introduction to the site's content and features
  • Instructional videos on the use of each clinical licensed database can be accessed via the top menu bar on the MyKnowledgeHub homepage
  • Use the "Request Training" form to request help or individual/group training
