The Vanderbilt Clinical Genomics Workstream is a precision medicine initiative focused on systemically integrating genomic and pharmacogenomic information into clinical workflows, decision support tools, patient education resources, and the electronic health record to improve patient care.
The Center for Knowledge Management (CKM) partners with the Clinical Genomics Workstream to create engaging, evidence-based patient education that supports informed decision-making about genetic and pharmacogenetic testing. This patient education is available both as a stand-alone document and as an interactive educational tool, available in English and Spanish, with Arabic forthcoming.
To ensure content is clear, accessible, and responsive to patient needs, CKM collaborated with the Qualitative Research Core to conduct focus groups and cognitive interviews. Insights from this work informed content refinement, accessibility enhancements, and the design of interactive learning experiences.
