The residential program consists of classes that address life skills; topics include self-care, GED/computer/resume classes, Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, financial planning, criminal thinking group and re-entry program, and repairing/building relationships with family.

Description
The Mental Health Cooperative takes a holistic approach to treating and supporting individuals with mental illness and behavioral/emotional disorders. MHC treats all age groups; treatment is outpatient-based and includes access to primary care facilities and a pharmacy. Individual, group, and family therapy is offered. Mobile and telephone crisis services are available. MHC also offers substance abuse therapy for individuals with co-existing mental illness. Case Managers at MHC can provide assistance locating resources for housing, budget & financial needs, medical & dental care, employment, education, social support, and transportation options. Youth services include assistance with juvenile justice court.

Metropolitan Action Commission services include programs to help individuals and families with financial hardships gain economic stability. The Commission offers adult education programs, general equivalency degree (GED) preparation classes, and college application assistance. In addition to training and employment services, the Metropolitan Action Commission provides support for safe housing, including payment with electric and gas bills, rent, mortgage, property taxes, rental deposits, and medical prescriptions, and prescribed food/medical equipment. Also, meals for children are available throughout the year via the “Summer Food Service Program.”
